All of these are fully preserved because Lloyd personally safeguarded his negatives.

2. Surviving Shorts (Partial Survival)

Lloyd made over 200 shorts, but many early negatives were destroyed in the 1943 fire.

A. Willie Work Series (1915)

  • Only 1 of 6 survives Five were lost in the 1943 fire.

B. Lonesome Luke Series (1915–1917)

  • 14 of 67 survive 53 were lost in the fire.

C. “Glasses Character” One‑Reelers (1917–1919)

  • 66 survive 15 were lost.

D. Two‑Reelers (1919–1921)

All survive, including:

  • Bumping Into Broadway (1919)

  • From Hand to Mouth (1919)

  • His Royal Slyness (1920)

  • Haunted Spooks (1920)

  • An Eastern Westerner (1920)

  • High and Dizzy (1920)

  • Get Out and Get Under (1920)

  • Among Those Present (1921)

  • Now or Never (1921)

  • I Do (1921)

  • Never Weaken (1921)

These are fully preserved.

3. Early Appearances (1913–1914)

Most of Lloyd’s earliest bit roles survive, including:

  • The Patchwork Girl of Oz (1914)

  • Samson (1914)

  • Twixt Love and Fire (1913)

  • Rory O’ the Bogs (1913)
